Volume of Sacred Law.jpg

A Volume of Sacred Law will always be displayed while the lodge is open. A Bible, Quran, Tanakh, Vedas or other appropriate sacred text is used. In Lodges with a membership of mixed religions it is common to find more than one sacred text displayed. Every candidate is given his choice of religious text for his Obligation according to his own beliefs. Either way, there is nothing secretive or mysterious about them.

-Famous Masons-

Freemasonry

is a tradition that is built on the spoken word. It is a mystic tradition that has been passed down through generations across the centuries. It acknowledges the power of language to transform the mind of the individual and even the course of history itself. Throughout history, great changes in civilizations and the rise and fall of empires have depended on the few words, spoken into the right ear at the right time. Freemasonry places great importance on remembering the thoughts of our ancestors. It is from these thoughts that we can learn how to navigate this maze of life and avoid the dangers that have entrapped the unfortunate.
